It’s here, finally! Yeah!!! The blog has a fresh, bright, new look. Where have I been, you say? That is a good question, which deserves an answer. I will be happy to give you an answer …in a minute. First, lets all just take a moment to celebrate this huge milestone. It has taken lots of research, learning, experimenting, and let’s face it, a long time to get to this point. Now that we are all here, I am so thankful that I get to be a part of this blog. So…cheers to a new beginning! Now, to answer your question. Honestly, I have been beyond overwhelmed with all that goes into getting the new look. I had dove right into getting things […]
Supermarket Melt-down…Yup I was one of “those” Moms Today
I should have known that it was going to be one of “those” kind of trips from the start. I was so unprepared. I had my menu app, shopping list with me but I forgot to add to it all the other things I needed to get. I was going to have to wing it. When we finally parked I only had one of my kids jump out of the car, the other pretended to be sleeping. Of course he would be the child sitting all the way in the back seat.
Goals Check-In
Okay everyone, it is just about the end of January. I told you I would be checking in with you, to see how you are doing on sticking to your goals. So, how are you doing with your goals?
When the Kids are Sick, What Can They Eat?
The kids get sick and then what? Lots of laundry, cleaning, disinfecting, snuggling, and oh yeah, what can we feed them? Every Mom goes through it and at some point, every Mom will ask it. Maybe you already know this, but for all you out there that don’t, I thought I would share some awesome advice I got when my kiddos were little. It is as simple as remembering B.R.A.T.
Getting into God’s Word: Excuses to Habit
Starting today, every Wednesday through January we will be digging into God’s Word. On the agenda for today, finding time. It amazes me how we are able to find time for T.V and trips to the store to buy lots of things we really don’t need, but when it comes to spending time in God’s word, we somehow come back with saying there just is not enough time in the day to make it happen. Don’t think I am not guilty of this, because I sure am. So how can we go from excuses to habit?
Teaching Gratefulness (apparently not my best parenting trait)
Every year I try to head out shopping the day after Christmas to stock up on wrapping paper, decorations, and all that yummy food I can get half off. This year was no exception. The kids went with me this year since hubby had to work. I promised the kids that I would take them to the newly opened frozen yogurt shop afterwards, if they behaved. I figured that would be the trick to getting the shopping done and still enjoying this Christmas season. Apparently, I was wrong.
When all else Fails…Take a Nap
See yesterday I was out for a special one-on-one shopping day with Devyn. When I got back James informed me that while I was gone Cody came down with a stomach bug. Poor kid, he really was not doing well. So I knew that today was going to involve lots of unpleasant laundry, applesauce, and no school. I had planned on getting ahead with posts for you all, so that when the Christmas break hit, there would still be some new reads waiting for you each morning. What I didn’t know was that most of the day was going to be spent without electricity.
R.A.C.K Library Donation
Today was the day, finally. We had to postpone our library donation day because we misjudged when the library closes and missed them by about 15 minutes, earlier this week. We were all ready to have a great experience and see the joy in the librarian’s face as we handed over some much loved, great condition books. However, this experience was not quite what we had expected.
Change in Plans
I was all prepared to write about the kids awesome experience donating books to our local library, but that just isn’t going to happen tonight. When we were ready to head over, I found out that the library was closed. We had just missed them by about 15 minutes. Bummer!
