Every year I try to head out shopping the day after Christmas to stock up on wrapping paper, decorations, and all that yummy food I can get half off. This year was no exception. The kids went with me this year since hubby had to work. I promised the kids that I would take them to the newly opened frozen yogurt shop afterwards, if they behaved. I figured that would be the trick to getting the shopping done and still enjoying this Christmas season. Apparently, I was wrong.
Is going shopping on Thanksgiving day worth it? Do you sacrifice time with family and friends for shopping? We throw out the reasons why the stores should respect Thanksgiving and give everyone, including the employees of the stores, time to visit with family. But in the end we always seem to come back to going shopping. All of the reasons why shopping shouldn’t be on Thanksgiving are of course still true, but when it comes down to me handing out our hard earned money, I want to hand over as little of it as possible. Don’t think that we give up on Thanksgiving. Oh no, that does not happen.
