I bet every single homeschool Mom has thought about needing a rescue of some sort from homeschooling, at one point or another. That is totally normal, but unless we have great homeschool veteran friends, finding the rescue we need may not be in sight. That is where Only Passionate Curiosity comes in with their new online class Homeschool Rescue. Having homeschooled myself for almost 10 years I was excited to see what this class could offer. Not only offer to new homeschoolers but also those of us who have been homeschooling for a while. So let’s dig into what this online class offers and see if it might be just what you have been looking for.
How is Homeschool Rescue Set-Up?
Homeschool Rescue is set-up as an online course. Everyone’s idea of an online class can be different depending on any classes you may or may not have taken in the past. I personally have taken several online classes via blogs as well as college courses. All have offered different ways of laying out the material. I honestly can say that this class is very well planned out offering not only video guidance but also ways to help you immediately apply that new knowledge with downloadable homework assignment sheets.
If you are a person who really needs a detailed plan laid in front of you, than guess what…Homeschool Rescue has got you covered. As soon as you enroll you will have access to a downloadable, printable, 60 Day Course Plan. That printable breaks down what you could work on each day, for 60 days, to fully complete the class. Are you a checklist type of person? If so, this same plan is set up as a daily checklist.
It seems that Heather, the founder of Homeschool Rescue, has thought of everything we could need to help us really dive into the material right away. Worried you don’t have much time to spend on a class? No problem. This is a self paced class so take all the time you need to work through and complete each lesson.
Being a visual learner I love, love, LOVE that the lessons Homeschool Rescue offers are video based. Even on days when I was tired I could pop onto the class site and dig into some new material, without feeling like I was working. For this Dyslexic mom, not having tons of reading to do at the end of the day when I have already been teaching my kids really made it much more appealing for me to dive in. On days where I had more energy I could focus on the homework assignments.
So what does Homeschool Rescue offer for lessons?
There are 5 modules in this class, each geared to get you thinking about a specific topic .
Module 1 focuses on triaging your current homeschool.
Module 2 deals with us Moms learning time and space management skills.
Module 3 gets us planning out our curriculum and our perfect homeschool space.
Module 4 teaches us how to set our students up for success.
Module 5 is for learning how to manage teaching older children…i.e., your teenagers.
Each of these modules have 3-5 lessons along with accompanying homeschool assignments. Some of those homeschool assignments can be done quickly while others will take more time and thought. These homework assignments are great tools. Heather really has thought through ways of getting us thinking about our homeschool. Not just thinking about but acting out ways to change things for the better.

Did Homeschool Rescue help?
Personally, some of the ideas presented were things I already knew. However, the reminders were great to help motivate me to work on those things again. I tend to be the type of person who can dive into a subject or space for a while, striving to do my best at it only to several weeks later find another thing to dive into. While all the things I tend to dive into help our family I feel I haven’t learned the art of juggling all those hats (subjects or spaces) at once successfully long-term.
The idea that we are not all perfect and can’t do it all resonated loud and clear in this course. So while I may not have learned a ton of new material I personally am able to walk away from this course with a new-found strength and happiness for what we are working on accomplishing in our family through homeschooling. Our family problems may not have all disappeared but I have found new energy and motivation to help manage them.
Besides the class itself, the idea of having the Facebook page to be there whenever I or you need support is huge. Knowing that we are not alone on this journey of homeschooling helps to ease the challenges we face, even if all we hear is that I’ve been there too and you will make it through this one, helps.
What does Homeschool Rescue Cost?
Homeschool Rescue offers two options for purchase. The first is just the course for $97. The second is the course as well as some one-on-one time with Heather to help you through some challenges, for $137. While spending money on ourselves is not always our first choice, Homeschool Rescue really will benefit not only you but your whole household. When Momma seems to have things together the whole house seems to be happier. Spending a little money now to get some motivation, inspiration, support, guidance and skills to move forward for the better is just a smart thing to do. The best part is that your membership gives you LIFETIME ACCESS. Yes you heard that right. You get to walk through the course completely now and maybe next year check out the course for any updates, tips and ultimately a refresher to keep you on track.
With Summer on it’s way, now would be the perfect time to reset your homeschool. Homeschool Rescue just might be the answer you need to get your homeschool where you want it to be, just in time for the new school year this Fall.
