  • 1bundle asparagusThe thinner asparagus works better, although all will taste good, just the tips will not end up being as crunchy.
  • 3tbsp olive oil
  • 2-3tbsp Parmesan cheese
  1. Gather the ingredients
  2. Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees
  3. Taking one asparagus at a time, holding close to each end, bend until the bottom section snaps off. Repeat this for all the asparagus. This insures that you are eating the best part of the vegetable.
  4. The bottom, woody parts can now be thrown away. Please take note that each asparagus will snap off at different lengths. This is very normal.
  5. Pour the olive oil directly onto a cookie sheet.
  6. Place the asparagus on the pile of olive oil. Rub and roll the asparagus to completely cover them all with the oil. Once covered, spread them out on the sheet so they are not in a pile, but each has a bit of room.
  7. Place in the oven and cook for about 15 minutes.
  8. After the 15 minutes take a look and see if the asparagus is just about done cooking. You can tell when the tips are starting to look a bit crispy, the asparagus has shrunk in size and the side of the asparagus that is resting on the cookie sheet is looking a bit brown. When they reach this stage, sprinkle the cheese over all of them. Don’t worry about being neat, as it is okay if the cheese hits the pan. (In the picture you can see the asparagus ready for the cheese to be added.) Continue cooking for about 5 minutes.
  9. Pull the asparagus out when the cheese has started to brown. Enjoy!
