My kids have all come to know and believe in God so the Santa thing has not inhibited them. My hubby and I both grew up with Santa, so it is more of a tradition than a belief. When the kids outgrow it, we are fine with it, and then they get to help in the process. Every year on Christmas Eve, after church, dinner, presents, and story reading, the kids all gather around the computer while we track Santa. Yes, I did say track Santa. We are able to see where in the world he is, live. This is an amazing motivator for the kids to get moving to bed much quicker. Which helps us parents out a TON with all that bottled up energy they seem to gather late on Christmas Eve.
Just the thought of writing a sentence is hard for my little ones, but to write a whole letter, NO WAY. It just isn’t going to happen. Does that mean that they can’t take part in this yearly tradition? Of course not. We just have to modify it a bit, just like all their school work. So how do we modify it? Easy.
