Today is our official first work day back from our mini trip to visit family. I must say, it is so hard to get back into a routine. Not just for myself, but getting the kids back into a routine as well. For myself, getting into the swing of things again, after a break, is so overwhelming, thank you ADHD. Where do I start? This time around we have it a bit easier, since we are taking this week off from our homeschooling. There really isn’t a good way to ease back into it all, but we have found some tips that help, at least a little bit.
Ahhh, the trip is now officially over. We had a great time, and I’m sure you did too. Now we need to somehow jump right into our routine. Honestly, all I want to do is sit down and relax. With everything that went into planning, driving there, enjoying the time we had, and making it back safely there really is nothing I want more than to sit down and snuggle with my hubby while we catch up on our favorite t.v. programs. So why can’t that happen?
You made it! You are finally on vacation, and so are we. So far every part of going on this trip has been more work then just staying home. Congratulations, now you can finally relax, or so you think. I can say from personal experience that things don’t always go as planned.
Just like packing for the trip, going on the trip takes planning and organizing. I know, I know, you thought you had it covered when you finished packing. But, trust me, this planning is totally worth it. So let me share some of the tricks that help keep our kiddos happy on long car rides, and ultimately us adults relaxed.
So the trip is planned, and then it hits me…PACKING, ugh. Over the years I have worked hard to improve how we get it all together for leaving on a trip, but honestly it still is no fun and a lot of work. The biggest problem to overcome with having ADHD and kids with the same, is forgetting things. I can’t begin to count how many trips we have gone on that we forgot something. Some are pretty funny looking back on.
