Weave Your Word in Me – Tween Bible Study – Review
First impressions are not always the truth. What am I talking about? I am talking about seeing a curriculum on a shelf or online and after looking it over thinking that it probably wouldn’t be a good fit for your kids, only to later find out that it actually is a great fit for your tween (4th – 6th grade) kids. This is something I recently was happily surprised by while working on the Weave Your Word in Me – Part 1 review by Kid Niche Christian Books. So let’s dive into this review and see for yourself why I was surprised by it and how you might be too. Being Honest here, I was very happy with the Bible curriculum we already had so […]
Field Trip Downpour
Fall is here, or so the calendar says. The weather however is gorgeous, way warmer that most of our summer days this year. With such beautiful weather our homeschool co-op scheduled a field trip to a local apple orchard. The kids were excited about getting out of the normal routine of homeschool life and doing something different. I on the other hand was excited about getting apples to make an apple pie. The trip was scheduled and that Friday morning we woke up and the sun was shining like the last few days have been. Everyone was all smiles as we packed up the van and headed out to the orchard. When we got there we waited a bit for everyone in our group to […]
Brinkman Adventures – Review
By now you probably know that we love audio dramas in this household. Well, today I get to introduce you to another audio drama, Brinkman Adventures. I was lucky enough to receive Brinkman Adventures Season 4 for review and have been happily listening to the many, many episodes this season holds. Let me share with you what this season holds and how this audio drama can help your kids grow a missional heart. As a Christian, finding ways to help touch your child’s heart with the gospel can be challenging. It is always a wonderful surprise when we find new ways to do so at home that do not include worksheets or family devotions. While these are very helpful finding ways that bring the gospel […]
CTCMath – Review
Is Math just not your strong subject? Are you sick of having to grade all those math problems? I was in the same spot a little over a year ago. I really wanted to find a math curriculum that was video based and auto graded my kids work. When a friend mentioned CTCMath I was pretty hesitant because it was something I had never heard of before. Having homeschooled for almost 10 years now I really thought I had heard of all the options. Boy was I happily surprised to hear that this company covers everything I was looking for. Maybe you are in the same boat and haven’t heard of CTCMath before, or maybe you just have never really looked into what they offer. […]
Super Teacher Worksheets – Review
Looking back on your childhood I am sure there are things about your education that you remember. For me having grown up in the Public School System I can say that something I remember vividly are all the worksheets. Some I loved, others we all would groan about. However, whether good or bad I remember those worksheets. When I stated homeschooling I wanted to give my kids a chance to engage with those same type of worksheets. Granted not as often as I did growing up, but none the less I wanted them to experience how fun-worksheets can help the material they are learning stick. I would spend a lot of time searching the internet for worksheets like what I grew up using. Some times I […]
The Secret of the Hidden Scrolls Books – Review
As a parent I am always trying to find ways to make the Bible come alive to my kids. It can be hard to get them interested in all the stories between the covers of the Bible when all the people we read about are just so much older, distant and seem almost unreal. Of course be believe that what is in the Bible is factual but believing and knowing is different than being able to really relate to the people. Having empathy is hard, and not just for kids. This is where fun-finds like M.J. Thomas’s works The Secret of the Hidden Scrolls from WorthyKids/Ideals come in. M.J. Thomas has written two books in The Secret of the Hidden Scrolls series, so far. These […]
